Microsoft Product Design Internship

Microsoft Product Design Internship

I worked on an incubation project from ground up for Microsoft Global Hackathon 2024, aiming to explore innovative applications of LLMs to solve scenario-based problems.

The project was awarded and selected for further development to drive user growth for Microsoft Copilot, and I had the opportunity to pitch it directly to Qi Zhang, CVP of Microsoft.

During this internship, my role went beyond design execution. I was given ownership of the product itself. I collaborated with the product manager to shape early strategy, initiated and led user research sessions, and worked closely with engineers during handoff to align designs with technical constraints.

Many thanks to

  • My mentor Peiting Tsai for constant support and answering my (tons of!) questions.

  • My design mentors Saber Zou, Yanti Li for all the invaluable feedback and inspiring the way I think of design.

  • My buddy Lexi Liang, Ziyun Zhang, and the rest of the APRD team that I worked with!
